Parkhill Fair

Parkhill Fair today. Lots of fun. Except for these nasty dirty ducks. Game was to pick a duck, and the bottom determined your prize, S M or L(arge). C got an S and picked a crocodile. But seriously, hand sanitizer anyone? Or how bout someone take 20 min and give these ducks a scrub.

Demolition Derby! Best round? The female driver round of course. Cars caught fire, things got smashed, good times.

C watching the derby. Again, checked out the crafts and not impressed. These small towns must not have any under 80 cool knitters with net access. Anyone who had any clue about all the free patterns online, would not knit up anything I saw today. I should have taken a pic.

2 turtles legs knit today, 2 more to go then I start his shell.

Thorndale Fair

Oh, and after we got home C typed to Daddy on MSN. Her messages were something like: qwerttqwertyiiiiiiiiiii

Thorndale fair today. C had fun playing in the rice table making a craft and she touched a snake, a really really big snake. I like the small town fairs where there are lots of people in need of a dentist who smell like barns. Makes me want to live on a farm, but not actually do any farm work. :) Checked out the winners of the crafty things, some good stuff, and some things that must have been made by someone very old named Maude or Francis or Edna - no one under 80 would have picked some of those patterns or materials. One of these days (next summer?) I'll look into entering something I've made. My turtle Sheldon from knitty.com is coming along nicely. He got stuffed tonight and tomorrow I will look for safety eyes and hopefully start his legs. Something is wrong with my k2tog and ssk stitches. No idea what. They're looking kinda funky in a not-like-the-picture kinda way.

First Post

Wonder String: Because everyone should own something Wonder Woman, and...I spend a lot of time with string. Sometimes the string turns into something good, like the headband I'm wearing. Other times it's a bit of a disaster. Like last Friday trying to knit with double pointed needles in the round. Using the 4th needle probably would have been a good idea. Using 3 was turning me into a homicidal knitter. Good thing I know plenty of knitters and one was able to sort me out.
