Riiiiip

Well. I have to start over. I had a funny feeling I twisted it when I joined in the round, and I was right. It's twisted. There is no bashing through that.
Then I think I dropped a stitch when I was fiddling with cable needles. But I'm not sure. I may have turned my work cause now I'm knitting the wrong way. I don't usually rip, but there are things I can't bash through.
I suppose this will give me the chance to see if I even have enough yarn for this project. I never seem to check that before starting things. Oh, I did find think link to explain some terms I didn't know. http://www.knitting-crochet.com/terms.html

I need a drink.

Cables

Well, it's going to be my first (ok, second - but the first went so horribly I've almost blocked it from memory) attempt at.....cables.

I casted this on last night in a pink cotton. I have 2 rows done. Wish me luck. Buying a cable needle later today. http://petitepurls.com/Summer09/summer2009_bliss.html

May the force be with me.

Poppy Hat & Rose

Since I'm so terrible at getting MY pics up - here's a pic of the hat from the pattern. And a link, but you have to be on Ravelry. I can't find another link. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/poppy-11#

To hide my error on hat #3, I made this rose (no leaves) to go on the front.http://rosige-zeit.blogspot.com/2009/10/rosen-rosen-rosen.html
It's big looking on a child sized head. And said child wasn't very impressed by it anyway. I was informed this morning that she doesn't really like roses. Thanks, thanks kid.

Why?

Why, with all the amazing patterns out there do I still come across things like this? Was there ever a time when anyone should have been seen in public wearing this? I think not. If I ever start down this route, I give permission for you to come steal my stash and needles.
I've been knitting, on hat #3 as in previous post. I LOVE the pattern in a bulky yarn. Hat #1 is good, hat #2 is too small (baby looks like a fisherman in it), and hat #3 has some serious mistakes. I missed a row and turned it around so an entire section is garter, when it should not be. Oops. I don't like to frog, so I'm making something to distract from the error. Let's hope it doesn't highlight the error.

Purple hat I knit for C. Making a matching one for A. Goin to find something to sew on to the side. I'm thinking big colourful flower.

And, I bought new dishes. Time for the ones I bought when I was 18 to move to a new home. Small problem: this plate does not fit in the cupboard. It's mm too wide. No way no how, it ain't gonna fit. Not sure if I will have to return these *cry* I really like them.

Took kidlets on a wagon ride. These guys (gals? I didn't look) pulled us. Was a short ride, but any longer and A would have gotten too antsy. C thought I was making stuff up when I told her syrup is made from sap, and comes from trees. Guess she's used to my sense of humor and thought I was saying impossible things as per usual. Not this time kiddo.

Still Slacking

I cooked! I know, amazing. Don't worry, nothing blew up, it was edible, and we're all still alive today. Yes, it was easy enough a 3 yeard old could do it, but whatever. Pecan Chicken, minus the pecans. :)

Cowl is almost done. In the meantime I've been using my needles, just not for their intended use.

I know I know, super slacker!

Wow. I thought I posted sometime in December, didn't realize October was the last time! Here's me promising that I will blog more often. I got all busy with the house, then XMas, then busy doing nothing, that I've neglected my poor blog. I'm slightly embarassed that the cowl I was working on in the last post, is the cowl I'm still working on. I guess it is longer. Maybe I will be done this week. Since I have no knitting pics, here's one of the baby and some of our cloth diaper stash.
